Tomi Ahonen

Mr Tomi T Ahonen is an author of five global bestsellers and an advisor to the telecoms/IT and media industries. He lectures at Oxford University's courses on 3G telecoms, digital convergence and social networking. As seen on TV on six continents, Tomi has been quoted in over 200 press stories in a dozen languages and has presented papers to over 200 conferences. The most prolific new services evangelist, Tomi has discussed over 1000 existing mobile service concepts in his presentations and his books include over 500. His customer list reads like the who's who of global telecoms, starting with Ericsson, Orange, Motorola, Nokia, NTT DoCoMo, Siemens, TeliaSonera and Vodafone. He has also advised numerous global non-telecoms companies such as Aller, Economist, Emap, HSBC, Ogilvy, and RBS. Tomi's columns have appeared in Telecommunications, European Communications, Total Telecom, 3G Mobile, IEE Communications Engineer, Ohmy News, Financial Times, etc. He is a founding member

Earlier Tomi Ahonen set up and headed Nokia's 3G Business Consultancy Department and oversaw Nokia's 3G Research Centre, and prior to that he was Nokia's first Segmentation Manager. Before that Tomi was employed by Elisa/Radiolinja the world's first GSM operator in Finland, where his accomplishments include the world's first fixed-mobile service bundle, and setting the world record for taking market share from the incumbent. Tomi started his IT career with OCSNY the first Internet Service Provider of New York and worked on Wall Street before that.
